Spiritual Formation
Emphasis on spiritual health and growth is a vital element of the CNPC program. While this aspect of pastoral training is actually more important than the academic study, it is also the most neglected in a traditional seminary setting. We seek to monitor and encourage the spiritual growth of our students by means of a mentoring program.
For the entire course of his studies, each student is assigned a personal mentor who meets with him on a regular basis. These mentors are godly men—usually elders or pastors—who work closely with each student to develop the strong and godly character required for the pastorate.
In addition to the mentoring program, our students are heavily involved in the regular life of their local church—from small groups to men’s times, our students work out their calling in the context of Christian community.
